Our Mission Statement.    The core mission of The ANIMAL SOCIETY is dedicated to preventing suffering, neglect, abuse, and cruelty to animals, providing information, raising public awareness of animal issues, promoting responsible pet ownership, and kindness towards all living things.

About The Animal Society.    The ANIMAL SOCIETY is a 501(C)(3) Tax Exempt Non-Profit Humane Society, headquartered and incorporated as a Non-Profit corporation in the state of Nevada. We are an organization of volunteers and paid personnel. The Animal Society is based specifically in Las Vegas, Nevada.

   The Animal Society is different from most other animal related organizations. How?

   Animal Shelters are locally based organizations within their specific communities.
The ANIMAL SOCIETY is NOT a shelter. We are NATIONAL in scope. We do not limit our focus, or our efforts to any geographic boundary.

   A good analogy: The ANIMAL SOCIETY is like the doctor looking for the cancer BEFORE it starts. Animal Shelters are like the surgeon cutting out the cancerous tumor after it has already grown and spread. Shelters are forced to deal with the problem of lost, abandoned, neglected, and abused animals after the tragedy has already happened.

   The ANIMAL SOCIETY is trying to stop this cycle of insanity by specifically targeting the SOURCE of the problem! Informing and educating people to be RESPONSIBLE pet owners, and raising public awareness to animal issues. This is specifically detailed in our MISSION STATEMENT above, and we strictly adhere to this mission statement in all our efforts.

   In a perfect dream world, our ultimate desire is to ELIMINATE all animal shelters...
BECAUSE if people kept their pets on a leash, didn't abuse and mistreat their pets, and didn't continue to do all the things people are currently doing to animals, THERE WOULD NEVER BE A NEED FOR AN ANIMAL SHELTER! Anyone who truly loves and cares for animals, and stops to think about it will agree with this view...

ELIMINATE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE PROBLEM IS ELIMINATED.
Cure the cause and you don't need animal shelters.
